
Wellness Activities
At Casa Werma, we honor the deep connection between body and mind. Our weekly classes including Vinyasa yoga, community meditation, Essentrics (gentle stretching), and Qigong (mindful movement) are designed to support physical health, inner balance, and overall well-being. Everyone is welcome. Each class is open to all levels, whether you’re new to the practice or have years of experience. Please see the schedule below for days, times, and details.
Massage services are also available by appointment and offer another way to relax, restore, and care for your body.
Vinyasa Yoga
This class combines the benefits of a flowing and active practice with mindful postures and breathing to strengthen and increase flexibility in both body and mind. It offers a dynamic yet grounding experience that supports physical vitality, mental clarity, and relaxation.
Mondays and Wednesdays, 7:00 pm to 8:00 pm
$130 pesos per class

Community Meditation
A guided practice focused on calming the mind through sustained attention and awareness of the breath, supporting a sense of tranquility and mental clarity. We practice the method of shamatha, or calm-abiding meditation. Meditation guides rotate each week, offering a variety of voices and perspectives.

Essentrics
A dynamic, full-body strengthening and stretching class that helps improve mobility, flexibility, and overall well-being. This gentle, low-impact practice is designed to rebalance the body, release tension, and increase strength without strain. Suitable for all ages and fitness levels.
Tuesdays and Thursdays, 9 am to 10 am
$100 pesos per class.

Tai Chi Chuan
This class combines gentle, mindful movements with breathing, promoting balance, flexibility, and inner strength, while cultivating calm and mental clarity.

The ancient Chinese art of healing and rejuvenation through gentle movement. This practice helps cultivate energy, reduce stress, and improve overall balance and vitality.

"I've been teaching Qigong, the gentle art of healing through movement based on Chinese medicine, since 2014 in many different settings, in Santa Fe, New Mexico and online.
Of all these places, Casa Werma — a gem of peace inside the magical town of Patzcuaro — is the most beautiful place. It's a joy and honor to offer my classes of Qigong, which is based on the cycles of nature, in the heart of nature, in this garden setting, and to be part of this welcoming community.
